Can't post any pics yet because my husband broke my laptop about 3 days before I left for the boat. Oh well, gotta love him anyway - who else would let their wife go live on a cruise ship for 7 months? Life on the ship is great - only one night of major, major sea sickness - I 've been fine since then. Love having someone clean my room every night, love having all my meals prepared for me, love travelling all over, love the fascinating people I am meeting, lots to love!! John and the kids are coming Sunday- can't wait!! I miss my babies. Come see me if you can - I can get you a discount!

John and I ran the Murray 5K with Brinley in tow on July 4th. I know, it is amazing that I got out of bed that early.

Kaylee just has to play soccer or die, so we put her in indoor soccer at Copperview. She had to play with boys.

Ah, Chuck E. cheese. What parent doesn't dread that name? Brinley was terrified of the dumb thing, so we were lucky to get this pic of Jonah.

Dressing up for the Hale Centre Theatre Thank You Party. Wow my hair grew fast.

Kaylee had her very first piano recital. She is a musical genius. She did a beautiful job playing "The Rainbow Song." Yay Kaylee!
It just wouldn't be a normal post without a Sadie and Brinley picture.
We went out to dinner at Thaifoon with Mark and Joann Spencer and Spencer and Rachel Haymond. Then, the boys decided to walk through the Gateway fountain fully clothed on the coldest day of June. Nice.

We gave Brinley a bath in the kitchen sink - she thought it was pretty funny to splash water all over Daddy. Dad's having a hard time staying dry lately!!

Okay, so 2 and 3 year olds playing soccer is the funniest thing I've ever seen in my whole life. They all run around the field in a big group - that is those who will go out on the field.
Jonah gets this look of sheer joy on his face whenever he plays any sort of sport. He has been waiting his whole life for this (:
This was his first time playing goalie. Doesn't he look fierce? It was funny when the other team got the ball down to the goal and Jonah politely moved out of the way so that they could kick it in (:

My First Race

Okay, so I just have to say that I completed my very first race last Saturday. It was a 5K and it was actually really fun when I wasn't in pain. I love how when you finish, there are people there handing you hot dogs. Like, I just ran off some calories and now I need to undo whatever good I just did 5 seconds after finishing the race. That and when you are already going to puke from running,what you really need someone shoving a hot dog in your face.
I have to say the very worst part was getting up at freakin' 5:00 AM so that I can hurry downtown to torture myself. In spite of all of this though, I can't wait for the next one!!
I finished in 30 minutes and some odd seconds and I'm pretty sure I can beat that next time because I had a huge side ache for most of the second and third mile.
My favorite part of the actual race was looking to my right and seeing some 6 year old kid beating me and then looking to my left and seeing some 90 year old man beating me and then looking ahead of me and seeing some freak dressed up like Spiderman beating me. Good times!!!!

This is my beautiful niece Sadie with my favorite Jones sister-in-law Terrellee. Sadie turned one in January and she's just about the cutest thing I've ever seen. If you know my brother Jeremy, this is his daughter. She looks just like him except she's got her mommy's dimpled chin. Together they make one fine looking child!!

Please, please, please, please come to Murray Idol!!!! That's right folks, it's finally here. The moment you've all been waiting for!! Come see me Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30PM at Murray High School. Thursday I will be singing Pop and Broadway, Friday I will be singing country and director's choice and hopefully I'll make the top three so I can sing Saturday too. I really need everyone to come and cheer for me and vote for me. It's fun family entertainment and it's only $5 per night. That is cheaper than a movie. Please come one night or two nights or all nights!! Thanks everyone for your interest and funny comments. I'll take a picture of rehearsals tonight and post it tomorrow on my blog.

My baby girl Brinley is coming up on 8 months already!! She is the absolute sweetest baby ever. She smiles all the time and she's got dimples!! I always wanted a baby with dimples!!!

My Jonah bear is almost impossible to get a picture of because he never stops moving long enough!!! He loves playgrounds and slides and somehow managed to beat the odds and get some athletic ability genes which definately did not come from me.

MURRAY IDOL POST #2
Okay just a few general comments/questions about Murray IDOL. Jody - how did you know about it!? Meredith, I'm still processing it myself and no, if Mr. Scott had anything to do with it, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. Plus, there has never before been a Murray Idol which is why you've never heard of it. Jenny, I don't actually know any country songs except one I sang on a CD for my husband called Bring on the Rain by Jodee Messina. John's only real flaw is that he likes country music. I am learning a new piece for Murray Idol. It is on this blog on my playlist called Broken Wing by Martina McBride. It's a light, happy song like most country. You should listen to it (: All your comments were pretty funny by the way. (:

MURRAY IDOL!!!!
Ok, this is for those of you who have ever asked me, "Jenny, why don't you audition for American Idol?" The main reason is that I was waiting for Murray Idol to come along. Because really, who wouldn't want to be Murray's idol? Yes, it's true, I am one of the few, the proud top 8 finalists for Murray Idol 2008. In case anyone was wondering, yes I am still young enough to enter (the cutoff is 30) and yes I'm the oldest one in the finals. So the whole point of this post is to invite everyone I know to come see me and cheer for me and most importantly VOTE for me at the finals. There are three fun filled nights to choose from: Thursday, March 27th I will be singing one pop song and one broadway song. Friday, March 28th is a really big treat because I will be singing country music. I know that is worth the price of admission on its own. And yes, they are making me sing country, it wasn't voluntary by any means. Saturday, March 29th is the final night in which case I will only be singing if I make the final three. All three nights will take place at Murray High School. Now I know you all know where that is. Hope to see you there!
